Description


Under the supervision of the Director of the Undergraduate Research Center—Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (URC-HASS), the Assistant Director is the primary manager and advisor for the following URC-HASS programs and activities: the Undergraduate Research Fellows Program (URFP), the Undergraduate Research Scholars Program (URSP), the Aleph undergraduate research journal, and Undergraduate Research Week. In collaboration with the URC-HASS Director, the Assistant Director coordinates the URC-HASS Faculty Advisory Board meetings. The Assistant Director teaches courses (Honors 101A: Student Research Forum and Honors 101C: Aleph Undergraduate Journal) and develops and teaches research workshops. The focus of this position is to support the research experiences for undergraduates, including outreach, counseling, and management of introductory and advanced research opportunities. Some grant writing and program assessment is required. The Assistant Director is also responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the URC-HASS office and major sponsored events.


A doctoral degree is required; a Ph.D. in the social sciences or humanities is highly preferred. University-level teaching experience is also required.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Position salary range is $60,304 to $75,927/year.


Position remains open until filled. This is a full-time (100% time) position, with a projected Summer 2019 start date.
