The University of Miami/UHealth Department Dermatology has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Clinical Business Operations Representative 1 to work in Miami, FL. The Clinical Business Operations Representative 1 facilitates the prompt resolution of problems related to pre and post care that arise in daily clinical operations. The incumbent performs general administrative and receptionist functions, to include answering incoming calls, efficient management of patients, and the acquisition of necessary patient care and records. The Clinical Business Operations Representative 1 assists patients in a courteous, efficient and professional manner and ensures adherence to divisional and departmental service standards. Core job functions include managing expectations surrounding pre and post patient care, obtaining or reviewing patient demographic, insurance and referral information, reviewing clinical records for completeness, answering multiple telephones, greeting visitors and callers, working cooperatively with employees to solve problems, providing coverage for co-workers, promoting effective communication, maintaining confidentiality, and adhering to policies. Department specific functions include initiating prior authorizations with insurance companies for medications, providing after visit care follow-up, receiving patient calls and messages, reviewing patient records and medication authorizations, completing daily call and PA logs, communicating care and insurance requirements to physicians, obtaining PA letters, providing cross coverage for inbox and triage teams, and performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, no previous experience required, skill in data entry with minimal errors, effective communication skills, ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary, skill in data collection and analysis, ability to work independently or collaboratively, and commitment to the University’s core values.
