Civil Superintendent – Dallas, TX

Location: Dallas, TX

Sector: Heavy Civil Construction – Earthwork, Utilities, Concrete, Structural

A leading Heavy Civil Contractor in the Dallas area is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee the successful delivery of large-scale infrastructure and site development projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background managing on-site operations across multiple scopes, including earthwork, utilities, concrete, and structural elements, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality control.

Projects may include:

  • Highway expansions and roadway improvements
  • Bridge and structural concrete installations
  • Site development for industrial or commercial facilities
  • Underground utility installations (storm, sewer, water)
  • Mass excavation and grading operations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate daily field operations across all civil scopes: earthwork, concrete, underground utilities, and structural construction
  • Ensure work is performed in compliance with OSHA safety standards and internal safety protocols
  • Supervise and direct subcontractors, foremen, and crews to ensure productivity, quality, and schedule adherence
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Inspectors to ensure seamless communication and issue resolution
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and site inspections, maintaining detailed logs and reports
  • Track material deliveries, manage equipment use, and monitor progress to ensure project milestones are met
  • Interpret construction drawings and specifications to guide field operations
  • Ensure all work meets company quality standards and project requirements

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of Superintendent experience in heavy civil construction
  • Proven track record with earthwork, concrete, utilities, and structural scopes
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and safety compliance
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules
  • Proficient in field reporting and project tracking software
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed
