In alignment with Northeastern University's External Affairs department, the Defense Industrial Base Institute (DIBI) seeks an experienced Manager Digital Communications to help support its marketing and communication efforts in support of a major new research institute at Northeastern University. With funding from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), DIBI is focused on revitalizing and modernizing our nation's maritime and defense industrial base. The Manager Digital Communications will include working alongside and at the direction of the Sr. Director-Public Outreach to help highlight, disseminate, and create content for a wide range of stakeholders. The Manager Digital Communications will play a crucial role to support the creation and execution of overall communication strategy, manage day-to-day marketing and communication operations, support event production across Northeastern's regional campuses and with DIBI's collaborative institutional partners, domestic and international, to help drive meaningful outcomes in support of the Defense Industrial Base.
The position will report into the Sr. Director-Public Outreach and will directly manage a Graphic Designer and a Communications co-op graduate student. He/She will help to develop integrated, broad-based marketing communication plans, strategies and measurements in support of DIBI's mission. He/She will help shape the marketing and communications vision of the institute's core activities and will play an integral role in its execution across a wide-range of delivery formats. Specific activities will include support for marketing and communications efforts for in-person and virtual events; management of marketing budgets, contracts, vendor relationships; use of event technologies and platforms.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in a wide range of digital areas, including social media, content marketing, community management, website design and architecture, SEO, analytics, ad serving, and CMS development. He/she will have the ability to understand the big picture, while managing the day-to-day implementation of the established marketing and communications strategies for DIBI. The candidate will have an understanding and passion for marketing and how to apply to the overall vision to ensure DIBI's successful performance of its mission. The Manager Digital Communications must be a highly motivated, goal-oriented team player who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, where flexibility, creativity, and resourcefulness are required for success.

Expected Hiring Range: $59,425.00 - $83,935.00
With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role.
