Forklift Operators are responsible for loading, unloading, sorting, staging and transporting products into and out of a warehouse. Individuals in this position must work cooperatively with other associates and productively with little supervision. Following company safety policies and procedures is of great importance to this position. Responsibilities include operating a forklift safely and efficiently, loading and unloading trailers and railcars, order picking, transporting to designated areas, checking product on inbound/outbound for accuracy and damage, using handheld scanners/equipment for warehouse management system compliance, performing daily maintenance inspections of equipment, working cooperatively with other warehouse associates, participating in keeping the facility clean and orderly, and additional duties assigned by supervisor. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, being at least 18 years old, minimum 1-year forklift operating experience, ability to move/lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically exerting tasks in a warehouse environment, passing pre-employment drug screening and background check, and ability to work overtime and adjust schedule as needed. Helpful experience includes RF equipment use, warehouse experience in high-volume or food grade refrigerated environments, familiarity with order management systems such as WMS, and forklift certification.
