A rewarding opportunity is available for experienced Special Education Teachers with a focus on math instruction for grades 6-12. This position is based in a positive, academically focused middle school environment in the Greensburg, PA area. The school specializes in serving students with autism and learning disabilities, providing tailored support in a non-aggressive setting where educators play a critical role in student development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective math instruction aligned with individual education plans (IEPs).
- Manage cases, monitor student progress, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
- Develop and implement behavior plans when necessary, with preference for candidates experienced in this area.
- Support students primarily with autism spectrum disorders and various learning disabilities.
- Maintain a collaborative relationship with parents and public school districts to ensure the best outcomes for students.
Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania Special Education (6-12) teaching certificate is required.
- Possession of a Pennsylvania Math (6-12) certificate is highly preferred.
- Experience teaching math to middle and high school students with special needs.
- Skilled in managing individualized instruction and behavior plans.
- Commitment to working within a supportive, academically driven environment.
Schedule & Location:
- Full-time contract for the school year.
- Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
- Located in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
