Job Description
A specialized educational role is available for experienced Special Education Teachers with a focus on middle and high school math instruction. This position is based in a dedicated special needs school environment in Irwin, PA, serving grades 6-12 with an academic emphasis on supporting students with autism and learning disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored math instruction and provide effective case management for students in grades 6-12.
- Collaborate with support staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavior plans.
- Foster a structured and supportive learning environment aligning with students unique academic needs.
- Monitor student progress and communicate with parents and education teams to enhance educational outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania Special Education Teaching Certification (Grades 6-12) is required.
- Pennsylvania Math Certification (Grades 6-12) is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience managing behavior plans and working in a special education setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students on the autism spectrum and with learning disabilities.
Job Details:
- Location: Irwin, PA.
- School Type: Special needs middle and high school.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM (35 hours per week).
- Contract Type: School year (NSY) contract.
