Are you looking for that next step in your career as a Lead Formulation Scientist? Astrix is collaborating with a client in the sports nutrition manufacturing sector to identify a dynamic, hands-on R&D Manager to drive innovation in formulation and laboratory operations . This R&D Manager will coordination with other departments to support, coordinate, and develop innovative nutrition powders and supplement products.

Location: Middlesex County, NJ
Rate: $90K - $120K
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of new products and enhancement of existing formulations.
- Research and source high-quality raw materials.
- Expand lab capabilities to analyze raw materials.
- Develop testing protocols for key characteristics.
- Utilize data to refine formulations and improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of lab equipment.
- Supervise and mentor lab technicians.
- Provide training in formulation techniques and quality control.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align product development with company objectives.
- Manage R&D project timelines to ensure efficiency and innovation.
- Ensure formulations comply with FDA, cGMP, NSF, and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, including formulation records and stability studies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Master's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Nutrition/Dietetics, or related field.
- 3+ year experience in nutraceutical formulation and R&D.
- Knowledge of product development processes, ingredient interactions, and regulatory requirements.
- Hands-on experience with solid dose and powder manufacturing equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel; familiarity with ERP software (e.g., Deacom) is a plus.
