Marketing & Social Media Learning Internship (Unpaid, For Academic Credit Only)
Location: San Diego, CA (Hybrid – 1 day/week in-person in Little Italy)
Time Commitment: ~10 hours/week during Summer 2025
Compensation: Unpaid; for college credit only
Navore Market is offering a learning-based internship opportunity for a college student who wants to explore storytelling, branding, and digital marketing in a start-up environment. Interns will receive training, mentorship, and project-based guidance designed to support their academic and professional development.
Navore Market is the first community-powered online marketplace that connects customers with local farmers and food producers, capturing the charm and connection of a farmers market — anytime, anywhere.
What You’ll Learn During This Internship
You will gain insights into:
- Best practices for developing fresh marketing ideas and supporting ongoing brand storytelling initiatives
- Methods on planning and executing marketing campaigns across traditional and digital platforms
- How to create and schedule engaging content for Instagram and Facebook
- Social media calendar development and ensure timely execution
- The process of monitoring engagement across multi-channels
- Ways to conduct research on trends, hashtags and content strategies to grow Navore Market’s online presence
- Support influencer outreach and partnerships on behalf of Navore
- How to analyze performance metrics and prepare social media reports
- General marketing support skills, including general content building, event promotion and asset organization
All learning activities will be accompanied by supervision, feedback, and skill development goals , and may culminate in a capstone-style sample campaign for portfolio use.
Educational Objectives & Outcomes
By the end of the internship, you will have:
- Apply design terminology and principles to real-world brand storytelling exercises
- Create social media graphics and layouts using appropriate formats and file management practices
- Storyboard content ideas for campaigns using images, video, or audio
- Analyze branded content examples to understand aesthetic trends and storytelling techniques
- Explore tools and workflows in modern digital content creation, from concept to post-production
- Understand media roles and responsibilities across digital platforms through guided mentorship
Eligibility Requirements
- Currently enrolled college student eligible to receive academic credit
- Must be based in San Diego and available to work in-person one day per week
- Strong interest in digital marketing, branding, and social media storytelling
- Preferred majors: Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, Communications, or related
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must have social media experience (Instagram, Facebook and TikTok)
- Working knowledge of Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
- Experience with photography or videography is highly preferred
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
