Job Title: Medical Billing Specialist (Full Cycle)

About Our Client:

Addison Group is working on behalf of a well-established healthcare organization seeking to hire a Medical Billing Specialist. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity offering a stable environment, strong training, and long-term growth. The role starts fully on-site with the option for a hybrid schedule after 90 days, based on performance.

Job Description:

This position supports the centralized billing team responsible for full-cycle billing across multiple clinic locations. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in AR follow-up, particularly in orthopedic or multispecialty billing, and be comfortable handling aging claims, appeals, and payer communications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and resolve denied insurance claims
• Work across all aging buckets, including posting payments, submitting appeals, and handling additional documentation requests (ADRs)
• Follow up on delinquent accounts and manage collections as needed
• Submit appeals with accurate medical documentation
• Maintain clear communication with insurance carriers and internal teams
• Create weekly billing status reports for leadership review
• Perform general billing tasks including claim submission, payment posting, and statement preparation
• Support team projects and assist as assigned

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in AR follow-up, preferably in orthopedics
• In-depth knowledge of commercial and government payer processes
• Strong familiarity with insurance benefits, medical billing terms, and EHR systems
• Experience with Epic Work Queues strongly preferred; will consider candidates with Athena, Cerner, or eCW
• Must be adaptable with technology and billing platforms
• High school diploma or GED (must be verifiable and from a recognized institution)
• Must pass background and drug screening
• Professional references from recent managers required

Additional Details:

• Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Schedule: On-site initially; hybrid option (3 remote / 2 in-office) may be available after 90 days pending performance and manager approval
• Environment: Central billing office (CBO); collaborative team setting
• Transportation: Must have reliable car transportation
