Job Description
Summary The Academic Director is the designated ?Center Director? for licensing purposes and is
responsible for the educational leadership of the school. This role ensures program quality, staff
development, and Montessori fidelity while also fulfilling all DCYF licensing oversight
requirements. The Academic Director partners with the Director of Operations to provide holistic
leadership across both the pedagogical and operational sides of the school.
Duties DCYF licensing and compliance management
Curriculum development
Teaching staff education and mentorship
Co-leading with Director of Operations
Oversight of new staff training
Requirements Montessori certification
Holds or is working toward an ECE State Certificate or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in an early learning setting
Minimum 6 months of administrative/management experience
Completed DCYF preservice requirements (per WAC 110-300-0105)
Engages in ongoing annual professional development
