Job Title: Music Teacher (Grades 6-12)
Overview:
- Seeking a passionate and experienced Music Teacher for middle and high school students.
- Responsible for teaching music theory and directing students in plays and musicals.
- Need a person that is passionate about the arts and can build relationships with students and the community we live in.
Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development: Design and implement a comprehensive theater and music curriculum.
- Classroom Instruction: Deliver engaging lessons covering acting techniques, vocal training, stagecraft, musical theory, and ensemble performance.
- Directing Productions: Guide students through auditions, rehearsals, and performances of plays and musicals.
- Individualized Support: Provide personalized instruction and encouragement to students.
- Collaboration: Work with faculty, staff, and community partners to enhance the program and create interdisciplinary opportunities.
- Community Engagement: Promote and showcase student performances to parents, families, and the community.
- Professional Development: Stay updated on best practices through workshops, conferences, and networking.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Music or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Proficiency in directing theatrical productions and technical theater.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Passion for fostering creativity and artistic expression in students.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Availability for after-school rehearsals and performances.
Preferences:
- Valid teaching certification/license.
- Previous teaching experience in middle or high school.
