The Chemical Plant Operator is responsible for taking daily inventory, unloading, and loading raw materials and finished goods, as well as helping in any of the other operations departments. Chemical Operators are also responsible for using and maintaining equipment used to blend chemicals. Key skills include the ability to lift up to 75 lbs, frequent walking to complete inventory, checking for leaks, and opening/closing storage tanks. Operators must run skid loaders and forklifts and use respirators when unloading Acetic acid, Formic acid, and Aqua Ammonia. The role requires tolerance to temperature extremes and working outside in all weather conditions. A high school diploma is required, with 1 to 2 years of chemical plant experience preferred. Responsibilities include unloading raw materials, operating production equipment, reading charts and meters, collecting and labeling samples, preparing containers for transport, labeling packaged materials, troubleshooting equipment, documenting work activities, completing daily batches, maintaining safety and cleanliness, and other duties as assigned. The position requires passing a pulmonary function test and respirator clearance, and adherence to safety protocols.
