Job Description
We’re an anti-corporate accounting and tax advising firm that provides top-tier service to clients. Our primary focus is helping clients get their taxes as close to zero as possible while handling anything tax and accounting on their behalf. Business is booming and we are now accepting applications from expert QuickBooks ProAdvisor Bookkeepers!
The Role:
We’re looking for a thorough and accounting savvy bookkeeper with a current QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certification and at least 3 years of full time experience in QuickBooks to own bookkeeping and accounting as a trusted resource for our awesome clients. Fully in-office role with the team in Irvine.
Earning Your Spot:
We believe in new hires competing to earn a spot on the team to prove they can elevate the company's work product and service to clients -- and we believe in rewarding them generously! We're hiring multiple folks and offering full time roles to candidates that crush it. You'll start as a contractor for the first 60 days as a "try out" period, with full time offers extended at the 60 day mark, or sooner for top performers.
If you're currently employed? You'll work 15-20 hours a week on-site at our office in Irvine, with flexible hours available. The option to jump straight in to 35 hours a week during the try out period is available for qualified folks. We'll provide the tech stack for you to work -- think dedicated computer, monitor, any other equipment you need -- so you can showcase your abilities.
The Hiring Process Step by Step:
#1 Apply online and tell us about your background, career goals, and why you're a great fit. New hires are advised to not use AI generated responses; it's not a good look because we want to hear from YOU, not a canned generic response that's the same as the previous applicant!
#2 Qualified applicants will be invited to share more information via questionnaire.
#3 After the questionnaires you'll meet with our Accounting Manager via video call for a 30 minutes skills assessment test. You will work in our test sandbox QuickBooks account, completing tasks and solving problems presented by our Accounting Manager, to show us what you can do.
#4 Crushed the skills assessment? Final stage is a video call interview with the business owner so we can learn how you'll improve the team and how we can help you achieve your career goals.
Starting Compensation:
$1000 signing bonus payable after you crush the first two weeks at work.
New hires join the team as independent contractors at $40 - $45 hourly during the try out period, with the final hourly wage based on the value you will bring to the team. Payroll is bi-weekly and via direct deposit. Full-time offers will be made to exceptional candidates with an annual base salary of $80,000 - $90,000 and a 15% performance based bonus paid quarterly -- so total compensation with bonus will range from $92,000 to $103,500.
Core Responsibilities:
Own all transaction coding, reconciliations, and your overall work product for multiple clients' QuickBooks accounts. Your experience managing multiple QBOs for different clients and entities will help you a ton here!
Review YTD transactions to confirm accuracy and call out any errors or inconsistencies so we can correct it.
You won't handle AR/AP for clients' businesses but for some clients you will be creating Invoices and Bills to properly track sales and expenses.
Work with our accounting team on month-end and year-end closings.
Must Have's for New Team Members:
Dealbreaker certification: must have a current QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification.
At least 3 years of full-time bookkeeping experience in QuickBooks Online -- preferably managing multiple QBO accounts rather than a single business's books.
Experience working in Slack and Google Drive.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Thorough and meticulous -- if something is off in QBO you put in the work to understand the inaccuracy instead of covering it up with a journal entry and moving on.
Apply your expertise and knowledge within the existing systems and processes the firm has established.
Own your successes, own your mistakes, be coachable and look out for the firm and your clients.
Nice to Have's:
Tax law familiarity and an understanding of how the books will be used for tax prep.
Additional training and certifications in QuickBooks.
Sales tax, payroll tax experience.
Experience working in Karbon.
These roles fill quickly and we only anticipate accepting applications from competitive individuals for a short period of time, the next steps are yours to take.
