Registered Nurse (RN) – Urgent Care
Location: Boston, MA
Full-Time | 12 hour shifts

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to support patients in our Urgent Care department. You’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment to provide timely, high-quality care for patients of all ages.
What You’ll Do
- Provide direct nursing care in collaboration with urgent care providers and clinical staff
- Triage walk-in patients and prioritize care based on acuity
- Administer medications, immunizations, and perform procedures such as wound care, IV starts, and EKGs
- Support patient education, discharge instructions, and care coordination with primary care and specialty services
- Deliver culturally sensitive care in a patient-centered environment
Clinic Services You’ll Be Part Of
- Urgent Care: Immediate treatment for acute illnesses, minor injuries, and other non-emergent needs

Qualifications
- Current MA Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- 1+ year of RN experience in urgent care, emergency, or acute care strongly preferred
- Considering newer RNs with previous EMT or Emergency Med type experience
- Comfort with a fast-paced environment and diverse patient needs
- Commitment to health equity and culturally responsive care
- Excellent communication, triage, and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Monitor and document patient progress, vital signs, and responses to interventions.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health management.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care across various departments.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform procedures such as IV insertion, catheterization, suturing, and wound care.
- Manage acute pain through appropriate interventions and medication administration.
- Participate in discharge planning and follow-up care for patients transitioning from acute settings.
- Uphold infection control standards and maintain a safe environment for patients.
Skills
Candidates should possess a combination of the following skills:
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
- Experience in critical care environments including ICU or Level I/II trauma centers.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding for accurate medical documentation.
- Skills in performing diagnostic evaluations and physical examinations.
- Experience with specialized treatments such as botulinum toxin treatment or esthetic laser treatment.
- Competence in managing diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Strong communication skills for effective patient education and family support.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams in various healthcare settings including home care, outpatient clinics, nursing homes, or hospitals.
