Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Architectural Designer / Drafter with a strong background in both residential (single-family and multifamily) and commercial building design. The ideal candidate will have a solid command of architectural drafting and design principles, a deep understanding of applicable codes, and a proven ability to produce high-quality construction documents using industry-standard software. We are looking for someone who is proactive and has a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Develop complete and accurate construction documents for residential and commercial projects.
- Apply detailed knowledge of building codes, fire and life safety codes, and accessibility standards (ADA) to ensure code-compliant designs.
- Evaluate building occupancy classifications and density regulations and integrate those considerations into spatial layouts and life safety plans.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to translate conceptual designs into technical drawings.
- Use AutoCAD Architecture and Revit proficiently to model, draft, and coordinate architectural plans.
- Coordinate with consultants and review documents for consistency and accuracy.
- Provide redline markups and revisions with minimal supervision.
- Support permit submission processes and respond to jurisdictional comments, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in architectural design and drafting, with an emphasis on both residential and commercial projects.
- Expert proficiency in AutoCAD Architecture and Revit .
- Knowledge of local and national building codes.
- Strong understanding of building occupancy, use classifications, and their effect on layout and egress planning .
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
