Robert Half is partnering with a local construction company in search of a highly organized Staff Accounting Assistant to support their accounting and finance operations. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong multitasking abilities and a desire to grow within a collaborative accounting environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain compliance through city and state licensing renewals and tracking reseller permits .
  • Assist with 401K worksheet preparation and data entry.
  • Manage SC Fuels card invoicing, monitor card limits, and process new card requests or updates.
  • Post A/R ACH payments , process intercompany adjustments , and manage company credit card transactions including clearing credit card statements from AP aging.
  • Conduct A/P review and processing with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Oversee corporate housing logistics , including rent payments and utility account management.
  • Distribute monthly percentage reports to Project Managers, and reconcile and post adjustments in accounting software as needed.
  • Email weekly labor analysis , contract status , and job cost reports to internal stakeholders.
  • Manage fleet registrations , post journal entries for fleet leases, and track equipment leasing through On!Track.
  • Provide audit support to the controller during DOR audits and assist with DOR-related reporting.
  • Support financial reporting and intercompany reconciliations under direction of the controller.
  • Submit pre-lien requests for multi-state construction projects and handle retention bond requests .
  • Provide general administrative and accounting support to the broader accounting team.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, based on team priorities and workload.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $60,000-$75,000. Benefits for this position include Medical/Dental/Vision Insurances (option for 100% coverage under union benefits for employee, spouse, and all dependents), participation in the Simplified Employee Pension (SEP) Plan, Profit sharing, 2 weeks of PTO, 1 week of sick time, and 8 paid holidays.

  • 2+ years of experience in a staff accounting, accounting assistant, or similar finance support role preferred, could consider less experience with a degree.
  • Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Construction industry experience and familiarity with multi-state operations is a plus.
  • Experience with Viewpoint Spectrum is a plus.
