Job Title: Registered Dietitian
Location: Bronx, NY (available in NYC and Brooklyn as well)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (40 hours/week)
Note: Local candidates are also being considered by the facility.
Job Summary: The registered dietician will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing nutritional care plans for patients. This role requires collaboration with medical professionals and patient education to ensure optimal nutritional outcomes.
Key Responsibilities: - Screen and assess patients based on level of care; identify nutritional needs and provide timely follow-up.
- Conduct interviews with patients and/or families to gather dietary history and food preferences.
- Monitor food and drug interactions and document education provided.
- Review lab, physical, and social data from medical records to inform nutritional plans.
- Provide tailored nutrition education and document patient understanding.
- Consult with physicians for appropriate diet modifications.
- Adjust patient menus based on dietary needs or restrictions.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical dietetics experience required
- 2 years of experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal, assessment, and documentation skills
Education & Certifications:
- Degree in Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition from an accredited institution
- Registered Dietitian (RD) credential by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)—required for acute care settings
- New York State Certification as a “Dietitian-”Nutritionist”—required for post-acute/long-term care settings
- AHA BLS Certification—preferred
